(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Salma Hayek doesn't understand rich people who refuse to spend money on their children.

The Mexican actress has three-year-old daughter Valentina with her husband Franois-Henri Pinault. Salma's job means she is financially secure, while her spouse comes from a family of billionaires. She knows some people in her position would worry about giving their child too much, but it's not a fear she has.

"I never understood the point of being privileged if you don't get to have the privileges. Like, people who won't take their kids to an expensive restaurant, or won't travel with them, or make them pay for everything at a really young age. I think it's important that kids have responsibilities and understand the value of things, but I think it's great that my daughter gets to travel the world," she told Allure magazine.

While Salma isn't worried about the impact wealth will have on Valentina, she is keen to help her embrace her body when she's older. Salma is happy with the way she looks and tries to promote a positive body attitude.

"I've never had anything done on my face. I've never had dermabrasion or peels or injections of any kind, nothing," she explained. "My boobs, they're not bad, by the way. I'm not complaining about them.

"My career has given me a lot of experience to be under pressure of having to be beautiful, and having to look for tricks to make it work."

Salma, 44, believes it's important for women to embrace what is good and work on things that need improvement. She loves to see females gliding about in high heels, and advises practicing at home if it's something you find tough.

"As a woman, you should be more at ease with your sexuality when you are in your 40s," she said. "You are more self-assured about that part. And that's the way it should be. If you are a girl who cannot walk in heels, it doesn't matter how beautiful you are. If you look like a chicken that's been spiked in the feet, it's not going to be sexy."

The star also believes women should spend time caring for their skin. Her grandmother taught her the importance of moisturising regularly when she was just a girl. She studied to be a beautician and had some unusual approaches to staving off the ageing process.

"She started working on my skin when I was 12 or 13," Salma said. "I never used soap on my face. Once, she shaved our heads and put egg on it and all these things. But I have to give her credit - my hair is great." (C) Cover Media
