22nd June 2016

Salman Khan's companionship with controversies is just inseparable. Now Khan has landed himself in yet another controversy by making a rather wacky statement on women. Salman recently shared his experience of filming the action scenes for 'Sultan' in an interview. While sharing the experience he said, "When I used to walk out of the ring, after the shoot, I used to feel like a raped woman. I couldn't walk straight."

This statement of Salman received furious response on social media. Many socialites came with their point of view on his statement. Some also demanded public apology by the actor. Salman's father, Salim Khan apologised on behalf of his son.

He posted a series of tweets which read, "Undoubtedly what Salman said is wrong, the simili, example and the context. The intention was not wrong.", "Nevertheless I apologise on behalf of his family his fans & his friends. Forgiveness is to pardon the unpardonable or it is no virtue at all" and "To err is human to forgive divine. Today on Intl yoga day lets not run our shops on this mistake.."

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has now demanded a public apology by the actor within seven days. "Considering the number of female fans he has, he shouldn't have made such a statement. Salman Khan should apologise," NCW chief Lalitha Kumaramangalam told news channel CNN IBN on Tuesday

Shaina NC, spokesperson of Bhartiya Janata Party tweeted, "Rape is an exercise of power to destruct a woman's self esteem ,frm wht I knw of @BeingSalmanKhan he respects #women so he must apologise."

While there is so much going on, the actor has chosen to remain mum on the ongoing controversy.
