Ranbir Kapoor is all set to play a dacoit in YRF's upcoming film 'Shamshera' and guess what the antagonist from the film a ruthless villain is finalised. It is Sanjay Dutt who will essay the negative role opposite Ranbir in this Karan Malhotra directorial.

Speaking about finalising Sanjay, director Karan Malhotra stated, "Shamshera is a highly ferocious and fearless character in the film. Therefore his nemesis, the villain had to be even more fierce and monumental in every aspect. Who’s better than Sanjay Sir to give us that impact on screen." 

He continued saying "My father and Yash uncle were very close friends and now that I’m doing my first YRF film, it is an extremely emotional moment for me. When I heard Karan’s idea to pit Ranbir against me, I thought it was just brilliant. I’m looking forward to shooting this incredibly exciting film, my second with the hugely talented Karan Malhotra." 

YRF's official Twitter handle revealed a motion teaser which showcased Ranbir Kapoor in a completely new avatar of a vintage dacoit standing tall with his army. The adventure fantasy drama is the first film with Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt sharing screen space together. Interestingly, this will be Dutt's first film with YRF  So get ready for an exciting on-screen faceoff.

The film will go on floors by the end of this year and wrap up the shoot by mid of 2019.
