Citing the fact that his role as the villainous "Kaancha Cheena" in his last release, "Agneepath" was as strong as the protagonist, Sanjay Dutt had no qualms in accepting the role. Post the release, not only the film but also Sanjay Dutt got overwhelming response from the audience and this has raised Sanjay’s expectations.

He says that even today he will willingly do a negative role provided it surpasses his portrayal as "Kaancha Cheena". He recently exclaimed that he will only don a villain’s role if the role is as strong as or stronger than the menacing "Kaancha". "I won’t do negative roles till I get something that goes beyond "Kancha Cheena".

I don't mind doing evil and out-an-out negative characters, but they should be challenging” said Sanjay. It seems that our very own loved "Munna Bhai" has tasted blood as "Kaancha" hence wants to play a "Khalnayak" again.
