Selena Gomez: I eat the wrong food

16th June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Selena Gomez has opened up about being malnourished, saying she does eat but not the right food.

The 18-year-old singer-and-actress was rushed to hospital last Thursday following an appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She felt sick and developed severe headaches, and underwent tests in a Los Angeles medical centre.

She later explained she was malnourished, low on iron and exhausted but had been treated and was feeling better.

Selena has now explained her comments, revealing she never deprives herself of food but struggles to munch on healthy snacks.

"I do eat," she said on radio show Kidd Kraddick in the Morning. "The problem is I don't eat right. I love everything that's possibly not good for me. I love M&M's, Kit Kat, Snickers"

Selena's mother Mandy is now taking her eating habits in hand. She's been ensuring she feasts on proper food and also supplements her diet with vitamins over the last few days, with Selena revealing her love of junk started when she was little.

"[Mom's] definitely shoving vitamins down my mouth and following me around," she laughed. "But at the same time, I was a stubborn kid, so I got to eat whatever I wanted. I have to have creamed spinach or cheese on my broccoli. I have to have something that makes it not healthy."

The singer went on to reassure her fans she's "good" and feeling much better. (C) Cover Media
