(Cover) - EN Movies - Sex and the City creator Candace Bushnell says Selena Gomez would make a great young Charlotte York.
Talks are underway to bring a prequel of the hit movie to the big screen, titled The Carrie Diaries.
The film will follow the lives of the four main characters and focus on the early days of Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, before she became a top New York writer.
Candace revealed her choice during an interview with The Daily Caller as she promoted her new novel, Summer and the City.
"You know, I don't know casting is like kismet. I'm going to get into trouble for this, but I was looking at some pictures of Selena Gomez today and thinking she'd make a really good young Charlotte," Candace dished.
"She's so pretty. I was like gosh, wouldn't she be great?"
Selena has starred in the Emmy-Award winning Disney television series Wizards of Waverly Place and made her big screen debut in Ramona and the Beezus. She is now making headlines for her hot romance with pop star Justin Bieber.
Candace also revealed that she could see either of her two prequels being turned into a movie.
"Definitely something on the screen. Big or small screen," the writer stated.
However, Candace refused to confirm or deny rumours that Blake Lively is the top choice to play the young Carrie Bradshaw. (C) Cover Media
