(Cover) - EN Star Style - Selena Gomez has advised ladies not to follow everything they are told about fashion.

The 18-year-old pop star shot to international fame playing Alex Russo in the Disney Channels television series Wizards of Waverly Place. She is also a major fashion icon, having launched her own fashion collection called Dream Out Loud at American retailer Kmart last year.

Selena loves nothing more than putting together a trendy new outfit, and admits she feels uncomfortable being told how she should dress by others.

I love style, but when someone else thinks something is perfect for you, but you dont, then its their style, not yours, she warned.

The pretty teenager often experiments with her look, which ranges from laidback and casual when she isnt working, to high-octane glamour on the red carpet. Looking good is a priority for Selena, but her main aim is to enjoy style, and not let it worry her.

Be comfortable and have fun, she urged her fans in Top of the Pops magazine. (C) Cover Media
