Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty is more than just a pretty face. The actress who is also an entrepreneur, recently made her debut as a producer as well. She not only owns a cricket team but just a few days back, she also launched a Jewelry Brand. And now, this glamour doll cum businesswoman has turned philanthropist with her new social initiative.

Shilpa has come up with a unique initiative to contribute to society. She has decided that she will organize community weddings for 101 couples who cannot afford wedding expenses.

"I thought this will be a very unique initiative, done for those who can't afford to get married. There are craftsmen in the jewellery business from the interiors of our country who cannot afford wedding expenses. They need such help," said Shilpa.

The actress will not only organize the wedding, but also gift a mangalsutra, a traditional Indian piece of jewelry given to women at the time of wedding. "Starting with Mumbai this year, we will go to different cities. We will also present mangalsutras with four gm of gold to the brides," she said.
 
Shilpa also has the desire to do 'Kanyadaan'. "My mother said that if we wanted to find a place in heaven, we should do kanyadaan. I don't have a daughter, but I will do kanyadaan every year," smiles Shilpa.
