Snooki has confirmed she is expecting her first child and is engaged to Jionni LaValle.

After weeks of continued speculation, the reality TV personality has announced that she is indeed 15 weeks pregnant and engaged to her beau of one-and-a-half years.

Snooki real name Nicole Polizzi says that both her and Jionni are preparing themselves for the new arrival later this year.

"I have different priorities now," Snooki told US Weekly in an exclusive interview. "I don't care what anybody else thinks. As long as I know I'm ready and he's ready."

Snooki, 24, is renowned for her love of partying on popular MTV show Jersey Shore, but Jionni added that they are going to be taking their new roles as parents very seriously. "We are not going to screw this up," he revealed.

The couple discovered the news "right after New Year's", Snooki explained.

The pint-sized personality says she felt anxious as soon as she found out she was expecting, because of her festive celebrations.

"'Sh*t, I've been drinking!'" she says was her first thought after finding out the news.

"I was worried. It was New Year's Eve and we were in Vegas, so I did go crazy."

The Italian-American star is currently filming her spin-off show titled Snooki and Jwoww vs. the World with co-star Jennifer JWoww' Farley.
