Sonam doesn't feel Mumbai is safe

16th June 2011

After crime journalist J Dey was shot dead in broad day light in Mumbai, many citizens now fear for their life and one of them is Sonam Kapoor. The actress expressed grief over the senior journalist's death recently at a press meet and further expressed that she feels disgusted that culprits walk away with such heinous crimes in a city like Mumbai, which she considered to be the safest city in India.

Sonam said that before the incident occurred, she very proudly used to promote and vouch for Mumbai's security. According to Sonam, she had many a time preached to her friends in Delhi that Mumbai is much safer than the nation's capital, as any girl in Mumbai, even at midnight, could easily catch any public transport and reach home safely, without fearing for life or integrity. Now, after this incident Sonam feels that there's no such feeling left, as she now fears to live and walk free in Mumbai. Sonam further said that it feels sick and disgusting, moreover helpless, with such acts occurring in a city that never sleeps.

Sonam says that now people in Mumbai, like in Delhi, will think twice before they leave their home, fear for life and will live under clouds of insecurity hovering over them, which is absolutely not a healthy sign.
