Sonam Kapoor, has been in the news more for her astute fashion sense in Bollywood than her movies, but this time the young diva is all set to make news with wearing a different hat. Not many know that prior to making her onscreen debut as an actress, Sonam had worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali as an assistant director for the superhit Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji starrer 'Black'. Ironically, this talented Kapoor actress also played the role of an art director in her first commercial hit film 'I hate Luv Storys'.

Sonam, who has undoubtedly impressed the international media with her classy fashion sense, has yet to make the same impact onscreen as an actress. She does have a good number of projects which are set for release this year. Sonam will be seen in Anand L. Rai's film 'Raanjhanaa', which also stars Dhanush, who will be making his Bollywood debut, and Abhay Deol. She is also eagerly awaiting the release of her biggest movie till date 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' alongside Farhan Akhtar. Sonam scored Yash Raj Film's project 'Khubsoorat' as well which will be the remake of the original 1980 hit, which had Rekha as the lead.

Sonam has now expressed her desire to go behind the lens, as given her initial background as an AD, she would like to further explore her talent as a director. Fans do not have to worry as Sonam would still continue to shine on the big screen as an actress, and would pursue direction in addition to acting in Bollywood.

With her younger sister Rhea Kapoor already being a producer, coupled with Sonam's histrionics and now direction, we are sure these Kapoor girls will create magic for their fans.
