SRK- Imran Khan to be roped in Vettai remake?

25th January 2012

After tasting instant success with Tamil blockbuster "Vettai" , UTV Motion Pictures are keen to remake the film in Hindi.

In the original, Madhavan and Arya play brothers, where one is peace loving and the other is a ruffian. In the Hindi version, UTV wants to try ta never-before-seen pairing of Shah Rukh Khan and Imran Khan as brothers.

Apparently, UTV’s this decision has not gone down well with Madhavan, who is very much a successful star in Tamil and Hindi cinema. Recent buzz has it that Madhavan is keen on reprising his character in the Hindi remake.

An insider source said, “But UTV, who have earned huge profits with the Tamil film, would rather take the remake further with two big stars in the lead roles. And since Shah Rukh Khan and Imran have always maintained a distance from remakes of South Indian films, the production house feels that the novelty factor of their pairing will add to the edge of the remake.”

When contacted, Siddharth Roy Kapoor, CEO of UTV said, “Nothing has been finalised yet. It’s too early to talk about the details. But we’re definitely considering remaking our Tamil production "Vettai" in Hindi, since it’s a huge success in Kollywood.”
