A moment of surprisal for 'Aadukalam' team as censor board officials passed 'U' Certificate. Recently the members of CBFC watched the film and didn't go for even a single cut. Earlier it was reported that 'Aadukalam' will be a violent action film set in backdrops of Madurai. But Vetrimaaran himself wouldn't have expected that the film would be granted with 'U' certificate for that mere 'violence' factor. It seems that censor board officials demanded for couple of mutes for the bad words. Sun Pictures is now on cloud nine that 'U' certificate will help them promoting the film to a greater magnitude as it will draw more audiences to the crowd. The film is getting released on January 14 for the occasion of Pongal.
