(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Taylor Lautner is aiming for just "a tenth" of Tom Cruise's success as an action hero.

The 19-year-old actor is best known for his portrayal of Jacob Black in the hugely successful Twilight fantasy franchise, alongside Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

Taylor, who practices martial arts, stars in upcoming action movie Abduction, where he plays a teenager who finds out that his parents are not really his when he sees his baby picture on a missing persons website.

The American star has listed the names of some of the genre's greatest actors, who he claims inspired his high-octane role.

"I studied film with John Singleton [director] while preparing for the movie, and I chose Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, Denzel Washington, Harrison Ford; we just went down the list," he explained to MTV at Comic-Con 2011.

"It would be an honour to have a tenth the career that those guys have."

Taylor got a chance to meet Tom while filming a promo for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.

The star says working with the Hollywood actor was "surreal", but maintains he held it together in front of his film idol.

"I definitely played it cool," he laughed. "It was hard."
