Pa Ranjith directorial 'Kaala' features South Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead has already kicked things on in some style with money yielding business in terms of satellite and music rights, raking in Rs 230 crore on pre-release. The film is a political-drama highlighting the sensitive subject that speaks about the importance of land laws and inequality. The film features Thalaivar Rajinikanth as a protagonist living for the rights of the people in Dharavi and the antagonist is a politician running Clean Mumbai campaign cleaning off the slums of Dharavi is Nana Patekar, This exciting face-off has resulted in bursting box office numbers and the film has entered the 100 cr club in just three days of its release. 

Kaala has registered staggering box-office numbers at the weekend box office worldwide, in fact, the film reportedly entered the 100 Cr club in just four days at the box office. The film has even crossed the $1M mark in the US in no time, with Taran Adarsh tweeting on June 8, "As you read this, #Kaala crosses $ 1 million mark in USA... Total till Sat [9 June 2018] 10.36 am IST: $ 1,011,633 [₹ 6.83 cr]…"(sic)

While the production house Wunderbar Films did not reveal any numbers, they still wrote, "#కాలా - Record Breaking Collections All Over The World!" 

Featuring Rajinikanth, Huma Qureshi, Nana Patekar, Anjali Patil and Eswari Rao, Kaala released in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi on June 7 worldwide.
