The gorgeous 38-year-old British actress understands the pressure on women in Hollywood to maintain a youthful appearance, and feels fortunate to have a wrinkle-free face.

The star has always taken care of her complexion as it can be prone to dryness, although she is grateful that darker skin tones like hers tend to age well.

They arent wrinkles. I am what in Hollywood they call animated. Theres a truth in that old black dont crack thing, she told the British edition of InStyle.

But dark skin like mine gets very dry you get these ashy deposits on your legs, so I've used moisturiser since the day I could walk. If youre low-maintenance its really important that the stuff you do use really works. Its all about multitasking.

The actress is married to writer-and-director Ol Parker, and the couple have two daughters together; Ripley, who was born in 2000, and Nico, born in 2004. Thandie looks back fondly on pregnancy, and found the change in her body fascinating.
