Relive your childhood...reminisce the good old days!

"I will grow up and become a reporter or a detective...just like Tintin", these were the words of my little brother when we used to watch Tintin and his cute little dog Snowy, on Cartoon Network. That is what Tintin meant for us during our young days. Today's children will probably find it difficult to relate to him and his escapades considering their palate for cartoons has drastically changed- from simple chases to crazy wars; cartoons have lost the simplicity today. The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of Unicorn directed by Steven Spielberg, will take you back to those days filled with simplicity & excitement.

Tintin and Snowy have a companion this time in their quest to search a lost treasure. Captain Haddock has to find out the secret behind his great grandfather's ship- The Unicorn of which carried a secret cargo and Tintin is set to help him. But where there is money, there is greed and where there is greed, there has to be a villain. Ivanovich Sakharine is after the three models of the Unicorn ships which the great Captain Haddock had made before dying. But there is more to this than just greed; Sakharine is after Captain Haddock. But why? What history do these two share? Will Tintin be able to expose the truth? Will the reporter in him be able to sniff out the story? You have to experience all this adventure to know what really happens...

The movie, like I said is very simple, with a straightforward story but somewhere it slightly keeps losing the track. The movie feels soulless at times and isn't very successful in connecting with people. But Tintin is a cartoon and as a cartoon, it is good. The animation and the effects are superb and when you watch it in 3D, it is even more exciting. Snowy's character is the best; the dog is so cute, adorable and smart that you will want a pet Snowy for yourself.

Tintin is a feel-good movie and a good family entertainer. Go for it and live the good, old childhood days once again!
