Top 10 Tollywood films of 2011

This year turned out to be a busy year for Tollywood cinema. The topmost grossers and hit films in Tollywood were released in this year.

FridayMoviez brings to you a list of the top 10 Tollywood films of the year 2011.

1) Dookudu- This film directed by Sreenu Vaitla had the biggest ever opening for any Telegu film. Quoted as the biggest hit ever, actor Mahesh Babu and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's pair became a hit and this movie has garnered larger than life fan following for Tollywood cinema.

2) Bejawada- Directed by Vivek Krishna and produced by one of the biggest film-makers in this country Ram Gopal Varma, this movie revolved around the gang war issue faced by Vijaywada. Even though the movie received mixed reviews actor Naga Chaitanya and Amala Paul's acting skills did not go un-noticed and this movie churned out a good amount of appreciation from the audiences.

3) Mr. Perfect- Directed by Dasaradh this movie has a lot of young star-cast. This movie which sees actor Prabhas and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles addresses the problems faced by NRI's abroad. The romantic comedy garnered a lot of fan following from youngsters especiallyy


4) 100% Love- Yet another romantic comedy makes it to the list of hit Telegu films. Director, Sukumar along with young actors Naga Chaitanya and Tamannah Bhatia have done a good job in bringing out a light hearted family entertainer.


5) Sri Rama Rajyam- Directed by Bapu this film is one of the very few mythological films being made these days. Nandamuri Balakrishna and Nayanthara suit their characters of Rama and Seetha perfectly. The USP of the film is infact the old school concept of having a background of mythology to movies.

6) Mirapakaya- Actor Ravi Teja and director Harish Shankar delivered a "tried and tested" genre of action-comedy in this film and the outcome was a successful masala entertainer.  

7) Seema Tapakai- G. Nageshwara Rao brings to you a light hearted family entertainer. With romance and comedy the story is quite common, but actor Allari Naresh and debutante Poorna do not disappoint the audiences with their antics in the film.

8) Kandireega- Directed by Santosh Srinivas and produced by Bellamkonda Suresh, this movie is a romantic comedy starring Ram and Hansika Motwani. With a bit of action and Thaman's music the movie was a hit with youngsters.


9) Rajanna- Directed Vijayendra Prasad and S. S. Rajamouli , Rajanna has turned out to be one of the most critically acclaimed and award winning movies of this year. Set against the backdrop of the Razakar's Movement in Hyderabad, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Shwetha Menon along with newcomer Sneha have given some pathbreaking performances.

10) Panjaa- Director Vishnuvardhan and one of Tollywood's big stars Pawan Kalyan, bring to you one power packed action-thriller.
The movie which is gangster flick was a treat to the audiences who love films with stories based on the underworld gangs and mafia.


This year 2011 turned out to be a mixed bag for Tollywood blockbusters. From romantic comedies to mythological films to political dramas this year saw them all. Some of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Telegu cinema were made in this year.


2011 has set a benchmark in Tollywood in terms of hit films. Hopefully 2012 lives upto it's expectations and delivers even more blockbusters.
