(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Vanessa Minnillo thinks maturity helped her and Nick Lachey plan their recent wedding.

The celebrity couple tied the knot on Sir Richard Branson's Necker Island in front of 35 friends and family earlier this month.

Vanessa and Nick had been dating a long time before their nuptials, and she considers this to be fundamental in the smooth-running of the big day.

"Nick and I are older I'm 30, he's 37 we've been dating for five years, and so at this point we really know what it is and what it means and that ultimately is the two of us joining together and starting a family," she told the British edition of OK! magazine.

Vanessa couldn't get over how simple planning the wedding was. She expected to be quarrelling with her now-husband over preparations, but they agreed on everything.

"It was so easy because Nick and I agreed on pretty much all of the decisions. Even the site, we were both like, Yes, that's perfect,'" she gushed.

"The cake, we tried two. We were like, Great, have one the night before, have one the day of the wedding.' Colours, flowers were easy." (C) Cover Media
