Vijay fans painted Madurai with joy as the audio of the matinee idol’s forthcoming film ‘Velayudham’ was launched in a grand manner at the temple town. On the occasion, cows, iron boxes and sewing machines were distributed to the beneficiaries.

The movie starring Vijay, Hanshika Motwani and Genelia D’Souza in lead roles is directed by Jayam Raja. Produced by Aascar Ravichandran, it has music by Vijay Antony.

Songs from ‘Velayudham’ were played and fans of Vijay from various parts of the state thronged the area.  Jayam Raja, Hansika Motwani and Vijay Anthony were present on the occasion and lauded Vijay.

Speaking about the film, the actor said, “It is the desire of every actor in the industry to do the role of a messiah of the masses. I am no exception. When Jayam Raja narrated the script, I was impressed and it was exactly the one that I was looking for.”
