Vijay is at it again. After asking his fans to work for the victory of the AIADMK in the April 13 Assembly polls, the actor has once again urged members of his Makkal Iyakkam to offer their support to the J Jayalalithaa-led party, in the forthcoming local body elections which are scheduled for October 17 and 19.
An announcement in this regard was made by the actor's father and popular film producer-director S A Chandrasekaran, after he met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa at her Poes Garden residence in Chennai on Friday.
In a statement, Chandrasekaran, who is also the president of Makkal Iyakkam, requested Vijay fans who had filed nominations to contest in the civic polls to opt out of the election race and to work for the victory of AIADMK candidates. "We understand your feelings. But at the same time, it is Vijay's wish that we should support the AIADMK this time," he said.
Talking to journalists later, Chandrasekaran, who is popularly known as SAC, denied that his meeting with the Chief Minister had no connection with the elections to the Tamil Film Producers Council, in which he is contesting for the president post. "I will tour the whole of Tamil Nadu seeking support for the AIADMK," he said.
