Viola Davis is finding motherhood with her adopted daughter to be a "wonderful" experience.
Viola and her husband Julius Tennon welcomed daughter Genesis into their family in October.
The Help actress is enjoying spending time with her recently expanded brood.
"[My husband and I] adopted a little girl at 14 months," Viola said Friday on American talk show The View.
"It has just been wonderful."
Viola admits that it took a while for Genesis to relax around her.
The actress shocked her daughter with her hairstyles.
"She had to get used to me because black girls, sometimes we wear wigs and weaves," Viola explained.
"So the first time I took my wig off with her, she was like, Nooo!' She literally did that. [It] took her a minute [to get comfortable with it]. "
Viola and Julius got married in 2003 and he has two kids from previous relationships.
Viola's newest film Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close which also stars Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock will be released in the US at Christmas.
