Vivek Oberoi takes ‘anti-tobacco’ drive to ‘Zila Ghaziabad’

30th September 2011

At various anti-tobacco events and in social advertisements, Vivek Oberoi has been urging people to quit smoking and opt for a healthier lifestyle. An ex-avid smoker himself, Vivek is well aware of the fact that smoking has a hazardous affect on life and hence doesn’t wants to encourage audience by smoking on-screen.

Recently when he was asked to smoke for a pivotal scene for his forthcoming film ‘Zila Ghaziabad’ he actually refused to do the needful. In the past, he had vouched not to smoke on-off screen and it is due to this pledge that he barred himself from following the director's instruction.

After much persuasion, he however agreed to shoot for the scene only on one condition. He urged the producers that before the film begins, the makers should add a statutory warning against smoking and much to the director's relief they too agreed to abide to his requests.
