Whitney Houston death investigation closed

11th April 2012

Whitney Houston's death investigation is now a closed case.

The singer was found face-down in a bathtub of very hot water on February 11 and was pronounced dead age 48.

Beverly Hills Police announced today that they will no longer be looking into her death because they do not believe it is a criminal issue.

"We have conducted a formal investigation and found no evidence of foul play," Lt. Mark Rosen said in a statement.

"Based on the findings of our investigation and our review of the Coroner's report, we have determined that this is not a criminal matter."

The singer's final autopsy report was released last week which showed that a spoon containing white crystals and white powder on a mirror were found in her Beverly Hilton hotel room.

It also revealed that the Bodyguard star had a hole in her nose from frequent cocaine use, heart disease, 11 dental implants and mild emphysema.

Kevin Costner recently revealed that he was asked to write letters to Whitney during her battle with substance abuse to offer words of encouragement but doesn't know if his word "were ever read."
