Zac Efron enjoys "writing a romantic song for a girl" should she tickle his fancy.
The actor stars in upcoming romantic drama The Lucky One.
Zac portrays a marine who hunts for the mystery women that helped him get through a tour in Iraq.
The Hollywood hunk prefers not to take such drastic measures to woo a girl he wants to date in real life.
"I'm a fan of small romantic gestures," Zac said on The Rachael Ray Show.
"I've done things like write a romantic song for a girl or do a painting or something like that. Those are more up my alley, I think."
Zac, who is rumoured to have been dating actress Lily Collins, will put romance to the side for a bit in upcoming months.
The star is set to spend some quiet time reflecting in the jungles of South America.
"I usually like to travel during summer, so I'll probably go to Machu Picchu or something like that. I like to go backpacking and stuff," Zac shared.
"Why not try to go and get as much out of it when I can be alone and think? It's very bare out there. It's fun. It's the best way. I'm pretty good about it -- usually I have my dad and my little brother with me. I hope they know what they're doing!"
The Lucky One also starring Taylor Schilling is released in US theatres April 20.
