It is Mahesh Manjrekar's next titled 'Chandramukhi' with a wide ensemble cast of Shruti Haasan, Vidyut Jammwal, Amole Palekar and Naseeruddin Shah. Reports also suggest that Prateik Babbar and Jishu Sengupta will also play a major role in the film and it went on floors in April 2018.
It is the 'Jannat' actress Sonal Chauhan who has been officially roped in for this gangster drama along with Haasan and Jammwal. Confirming the news a source said, "Sonal plays a very interesting role in the film justifying to the movie’s script. It’s something which she has not portrayed on screen before.The movie is an underworld gangster drama with the angle of Devdas, Paro and Chandramukhi. While Shruti will be seen playing Paro, Sonal will portray the role of Chandramukhi in the movie."
Talking about being involved in this film Chauhan said "It's an honour to be working with Mahesh sir. I'm a huge fan of his work and happy to be part of the project along with Vidyut and Shruti."
Chandramukhi is bankrolled by Vijay Galani and Pratik Galani under their banner Galani Entertainments. Sonal Chauhan has also bagged JP Dutta's upcoming war drama 'Paltan'. The film, based on the 1967 Nathu La and Cho La clashes between the Indian and Chinese armies, also stars Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Arjun Rampal and Sonu Sood.
