Before you get the wrong idea, let it be clear from the start that it is only to promote a radio channel. Apart from shooting for his upcoming film, Aamir Khan is busy promoting a radio station and is urging Bollywood to follow suit. Aamir is not doing so as a commercial brand ambassador for any of his other endorsements; in fact it's with a good intention. The radio station that Aamir is promoting is a community radio 'Jaago Mumbai 90.8' that is run by the residents of Sea Hill Building in Bandra, where he also lives.

He was recently at the celebration of the first anniversary of the only community radio station and it co-incided with Maharashtra day. On this eve, he urged other Bandra'ites cum Bollywood celebrities to support and promote this radio channel for the betterment of society. He was of the opinion that like him, many of Bollywood's stars like Shahrukh Khan, Salman, Ranbir, Kareena reside in Bandra too, so their support and word of mouth will help the small-budget community radio survive the fierce competition.

Apart from spreading the word amongst his colleagues, Aamir has also funded the radio station and promises to do so whenever there's a need in the future. He feels that community radio stations will even help promote the talent prevailing in our country.
