(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Alice Cooper will enter his second golden era when he gets inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Every year The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation chooses the artists it deems the most influential to enter the Hall of Fame, and on March 14 the 63-year-old American rock singer is joining stars such as Neil Diamond in being inducted at a ceremony in New York.

The Foundation annually chooses successful acts to enter the iconic Hall of Fame from a list of 15 nominees who released their debut album or single at least 25 years ago.

Alices producer, Bob Ezrin, is thrilled about the possibilities which could stem from the rockers newly elevated status. Bob worked with the musician on Love It to Death, the hit 1971 Alice Cooper album, and is collaborating with him on Welcome 2 My Nightmare a new album due for release this summer.

"Alice is one of the rock artists from that time who has not had his second golden era yet," Bob told USA Today.

Meanwhile, Alice himself is looking forward to the upcoming ceremony. He will enter the Hall of Fame with original band members - rhythm guitarist Michael Bruce, bassist Dennis Dunaway, drummer Neal Smith and late lead guitarist Glen Buxton. The band first qualified to enter in 1994, 25 years after their debut album Pretties for You was released, although it was only last year that they first made the shortlist, and were selected to enter.

Alice believes the lengthy wait was due to a bad-boy image and joked there was a similarity with TV villain Erica Kane from US show All My Children, who is played by actress Susan Lucci.

"We were Susan Lucci for quite a long time or Pete Rose, whichever way you look at it," he laughed. (C) Cover Media
