(Cover) - EN Movies - Angelina Jolie tried to sound like Mae West during her auditions for Kung Fu Panda.

The 35-year-old actress has reprised her role as Tigress in the sequel to the adventure animation, which is set for US release later this month.

Angelina recently admitted she doesnt like the sound of her own voice, and she has now confessed that she even tried to emulate the vocals of late screen icon Mae, who passed away in 1980 and was considered to have one of the most seductive voices in Hollywood.

"I did, I did," she blushed, when MTV asked if she put on different accents during her audition.

"I've never loved my own voice. Like most people, you hear your own voice and you think, 'Ugh.' So I came in and I was Mae West for a while."

It wasnt only Mae that Angelina drew inspiration from; the star also tried her hand at sounding like a Brit and a Southern belle. However, the movie producers werent impressed with her attempts, and told her there was nothing wrong with her natural accent.

"I was doing southern, I was doing British, I was doing any accent I could come up with. Finally, they had to give me the talking-to that they'd analysed my voice and they'd hired me and they were very fine with my [natural voice], 'So please just stop doing those horrible voices,'" laughed Angelina.
