Arnold Schwarzenegger suffers movie injury

18th November 2011

Arnold Schwarzenegger got "a little banged up" on the set of his new movie yesterday.

The actor is currently filming The Last Stand in New Mexico, where he suffered a head injury. Thankfully the wound wasn't serious, and the action star was able to return to set later in the day.

The 64 year-old immediately took to Twitter to show a picture of his battle wound.

"Got a little banged up on set today. Thanks to the medical staff who got me back in action an hour later! sic" he tweeted.

The star is playing a dishonoured cop alongside Forest Whitaker in the new action thriller.

It has not yet been revealed how he got the injury.

Arnold is well known as one of Hollywood's toughest men, having started his career as a bodybuilder.

His impressive physique caught the eye of James Cameron who cast in him The Terminator and shot him into superstardom in the 1980s.

In recent years he has become known as a politician and the Governor of California. However, just weeks after he left his post in January, the star announced his return to his true passion - acting.

As well as The Last Stand, Arnold has also signed on to star in Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables 2, which will be released next year.
