Be fearless, says PC to girls

4th September 2014

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has been very independent and fearless as an actress. Despite of being from a small town and a complete stranger to the world of glamour, she not only conquered the world as Miss World in her former years but also rechristened her success as an actress.

Her unfathomable achievements has made her an idol who is looked upon by many. And hence when a youth icon like her gives an advice to young girls, the statement makes waves in the country.

The dusky beauty was in the capital to promote her film 'Mary Kom' when she talked about women's safety. Though she was visiting renowned public places to promote her film, she didn't forget to advice girls on how they can protect themselves in dreading times like these.

"When I say be fearless in Delhi, I know it's difficult. We're not living in an ideal situation which would have been if the authorities and law enforcers had created a safe and protected environment for us. But since that's not happening, the only thing we can do is feel protected at our own personal level. I know it's a sad advice to give, but take up self-defence classes, carry pepper sprays, feel confident," she said.

Priyanka substantiates the part of her suggestion where she advises girls about learning a self defence art with the following statement. "When I learnt this new skill, boxing, I felt a different level of confidence. I mean, I can't win a fight or whatever, but still, I feel different. Ab iska matlab yeh bhi nahi hai ki tum unnecessarily pange lene lag jaao logon se. But yes, if the world can't protect you, doesn't mean you can't either," she added.
