Record producer Mark is one of the most in-demand figures of the music industry, and has famously worked on tracks with artists including Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen and George, who is best known for being the lead singer of 80s band Culture Club.

Georges career has enjoyed a revival recently, with the singer citing working with Mark as a particular highlight. The pop star enjoyed teaming up with Mark because hes so easygoing, and was thrilled to receive a call from the producer as he had admired Marks work on Amys album Back to Black.

I think working with Amy Winehouse was the thing that sealed his legacy as prince of cool because Amy is a musician's musician. He called me up and said he had a song that was perfect for me. I really loved it, especially the lyrics... Boy George told British newspaper The Independent.

He says the pair bonded over their love of the extravagant fashion and electronic sounds of the 80s, adding he admires the producer for his honest nature.

I really enjoyed working with Mark, he is super cool and laid back in the studio, which suited me perfectly. It's obvious that he loves the whole vibe of the 80s, but I also think he just loves anything that hints at style and integrity, gushed the singer.

Another star who was quick to praise Mark was Lily, who thinks the producer stands out from other people in the industry because of his one-of-a-kind persona. She worked with Mark on her breakthrough album Alright, Still and says he didnt judge her on the wild partying antics she was renowned for at the time.

He is very relaxing to be around. Maybe that's because he's grown up in a rock'n'roll environment, so isn't fazed by what's happened to me. I find that refreshing. Mark, though, is one of the few people who is always just a calming guy to be around, she explained. (C) Cover Media
