Catherine Middleton guts fish' with scouts

12th July 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - The Duchess of Cambridge reportedly taught scouts how to gut fish this week.

Britain's Catherine Middleton, who wed Prince William in April 2011, volunteers with the Scout Association near her North Wales home once per month.

Catherine helped to host a barbecue on the beach, a special summer afternoon event.

During her time with the young scouts, who were as young as eight-years-old, the duchess caught crabs with the children and learned how to clean out fish.

"She helped organise an outdoor activities evening for the local scouts on the beach," a spokesperson told People magazine.

The Scouts Association appreciates Catherine's involvement with their organisation.

"It's traditional at the end of term that scout groups celebrate the scouting year and look forward to the next one," the spokesman explained. "Without volunteers like the duchess, events like this could not take place."

Catherine became involved with the Scouts at the beginning of this year.

As part of her volunteer pledge she took the scout's vow to "do my best to do my duty to God and to the Queen, To help other people, And to keep the Scout Law", the Daily Mail reported. (C) Cover Media
