The long standing companion of Dr. Rajakumar, Channa, who is an employee of the information department of government of Karnataka, continues to be an actor in sundry roles. He has innumerable memories of Dr. Rajakumar with him.

Rajakumar was his obsession. He would go to the extent of pestering producers and directors to give him an opportunity to act with the legendary actor. Finally, his dream came true when he was given the role of a soldier in 'Babruvahana' 37 years ago. Channa became the unofficial confidante to Rajakumar but not at the cost of his job. "The one thing Rajkumar made clear to me was not to quit my job. Do not quit a good job dreaming about films,' he told me in the very beginning. I still have three years of service left," recalls Channa.

He starred in most of the films of Rajakumar in his autumn years. When Shiva started acting, Channa continued to be part of his films too. Channa was known as the one who would take care of Rajakumar's personal needs. He would accompany the actor on his morning walks and personal visits. The Man Friday was whom Rajakumar turned to when he wanted anything — from his favorite 'thatte idli' to non-vegetarian food from roadside hotels, which his family members would forbid.

Even after death of Dr. Rajakumar in 2006 April, Channa is serving the family of icon with the same loyalty.
