(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Christina Hendricks has revealed she is getting a banana with her name on it for Christmas this year.

The actress, who is best known for her role in Mad Men, confessed her family has a tradition of giving personalised pieces of fruit over the festive season. While some people may find the gift unusual, Christina insists she looks forward to it as it helps prepare her for a day of over-indulgence.

"My family always does a banana with your name on it in your stocking," she told People magazine. "You carve [the name] in really lightly with a pencil, and a couple hours later it's nice and black. It sounds so gross but I promise it's really cute!

"I think it was supposed to be a healthy thing to eat on Christmas morning before you start to eat all the goodies and sweets and all those things."

The 35-year-old beauty is looking forward to Christmas as she enjoys giving presents to her loved ones. Christina also admits she cant wait to tuck into some of her favourite sugary snacks while she spends time with her family and her husband, actor Geoffrey Arend.

"I love it! I indulge," Christina added. "I love buying people presents and I love parties, I love the cookies and I love the snacks. I love all of it." (C) Cover Media
