Colin Farrell: I'm seven years sober

2nd April 2012

Colin Farrell says that he is "grateful" to have seven years of sobriety.

The Irish actor opened up on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show today where he shared that he has more pleasure out of life now.

He admitted however, that he was worried how being clean would affect his acting.

"Seven years sober," he told the chat show host. "I'm really grateful. It's lovely to be present in my life."

"I was terrified because, I'm not saying I was a great actor before or a great actor since, but I was terrified that whatever my capacity was as an actor beforehand, however little or large it would completely disappear."

Colin says that he now "laughs easier" and has "genuinely more fun in life."

The seemingly reformed ladies man also said that he is now looking for a special person to share his new found joy with.

"Straight up, you are literally the closest thing I have to a girlfriend," the father-of-two told the married host. "I don't have a type. I suppose kindness is kind of nice and sexy."
