(Cover) - EN Movies - Darren Aronofsky has signed on to direct the pilot episode of a new HBO drama series, it has been reported.
The filmmaker, who was nominated for an Oscar this year for his work on Black Swan, is tipped to lend his vision to Hobgoblin.
The drama is set during World War II and is based around a group of con men and magicians who are trying to destroy Hitler's regime with their deception and magic skills.
Written by husband-and-wife duo Michael Chabon and Ayelet Waldman, who will executive produce alongside Aronofsky, the project has been in development for several months.
The series will be the director's first TV show, after a successful career directing movies including Requiem for a Dream and The Wrestler.
Darren is also currently working on Noah, an edgy remake of the biblical story of Noah's Ark. (C) Cover Media
