(Cover) - EN Movies - David Heyman is to receive the producer of the decade accolade at this year's CineEurope trade fair.

David is best known for obtaining the film rights to J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter children's books in 1999 and producing all of the films in the franchise with the final movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 set for release internationally this July.

In honour of his contribution to cinema, David will be honoured as producer of the decade at the prestigious film fair this month. He will receive his gong at the CineEurope Awards Luncheon which will take place on June 30. The 2011 CineEurope event will this year run from June 27 30 and be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

CineEurope managing director Robert Sunshine has praised British-born David for his remarkable talent.

"It is a great pleasure for CineEurope to be able to acknowledge and pay tribute to a very prolific international producer who produced the wildly successful Harry Potter franchise as well as many other blockbuster films and an array of independent films," he is quoted as saying by The Hollywood Reporter.

A special preview of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 will be screened for attendees at the CineEurope event, although the official premiere will take place in London on July 7. (C) Cover Media
