(Cover) - EN Showbiz - David Arquette has denied he is back together with Courteney Cox-Arquette, insisting they "remain dear friends".

The pair announced they were separating after 11 years of marriage last year. However, the stars have remained on good terms for the sake of their daughter Coco and are regularly spotted together. They have been bombarded by reports they are giving their marriage another try and rumours intensified after they celebrated Memorial Day together.

David has grown frustrated by the constant speculation and has taken to his Twitter account to set the matter straight.

"although Courteney and I spent Memorial day together as a family and she was so sweet and supportive of me by coming to see David Arquette Presents Beacher's Madhouse last night we are not back together as a couple but remain family and dear friends (sic)," he wrote.

David insists he doesn't want to keep addressing rumours about his personal life, but is becoming increasingly upset. The star who entered rehab earlier this year and admitted he feared he was having a nervous breakdown has continually praised Courteney for supporting him even though they are no longer together.

He wants to do everything he can to protect the 46-year-old actress from any hurtful speculation or gossip.

"I have to write that because the paparazi are hounding me with questions and I want to be clear. If we were to get back together we would make a public statement. Trust me I'm as sick as a lot of you are about discussing my personal life publicly but I also don't like tabloids writing assumptions (sic)," the 39-year-old fumed. (C) Cover Media
