(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dominic Cooper says he prefers flirting with British women.

The actor is known for his roles in Mamma Mia! and The Duchess, and has revealed that he finds it easier to relate to girls from his home country as he has more in common with them.

The 32-year-old Hollywood star worries that he will offend American girls who do not understand his ironic British humour.

Well, if Im chatting to someone from the UK, then I can talk about the ridiculous TV shows we grew up with, or mushy peas, or the fish fingers we ate at school, he told Company magazine.

If youre dating someone from America, you have to bridge that cultural gap. I worry sometimes that Americans dont get my sense of humour and think Im being sarcastic.

Despite his reservations, Dominic - who hails from London enjoyed a relationship with American actress Amanda Seyfried. The pair began dating after they starred together in 2008 movie Mamma Mia! but their relationship ended in May 2010.

The British actor also revealed his other dating criteria. He believes it is important for women to dress smartly in order to grab his attention.

Would I approach a woman wearing a Kappa shell suit in the same way as a lady in a nice dress? Maybe not, he added. But thats quite shallow isnt it? (C) Cover Media
