Ekta: I don't want to compete with Aamir

23rd July 2012

Ekta Kapoor is best known for her smart business moves that has got her enduring success in television and films.

While she has been redefining trends with her various films like 'Ragini MMS', 'Shor in the City' and 'The Dirty Picture', she recently postponed the release of her forthcoming production 'Shootout at Wadala'

Ekta had scheduled to release the film on December 7, immediately a week after Aamir Khan's 'Talaash' released on November 30. But she realized that releasing her film soon after Aamir's highly anticipated film could eat into her film's business. And hence in order to avoid this clash with the titan, Ekta postponed the release of her film by early next year.

"As Talaash is releasing on November 30, how could we release our film that time. I don't want to compete with him...absolutely not. How can we decide to take on the mammoth Aamir Khan?" stated Ekta in her justification to postpone the release of her film.

The film 'Shootout at Wadala' is a sequel to the 2007 film 'Shootout at Lokhandwala' that stars John Abraham, Sonu Sood, Kangna Ranaut, Anil Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor in lead.
