(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Fergie says the only preparation she did for the new Black Eyes Peas album was walking into one of her bandmates hotel rooms.

The singer joins will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo in the American group, who released their new record The Beginning this month. It was recorded while they were touring with their last offering The E.N.D., which they are all proud about.

Fergie admits they would never have been able to make The Beginning if it wasnt for the massive advances in the music industry over the last few years.

I mean you have to realise this album was made on tour, she explained. Basically these guys have hotel rooms with studios in them. Now technology has allowed us to make albums in hotel rooms. They'd leave their doors open, and I'd walk in [and just start singing].

The band realise many people thought they were making a statement with the title of their last record, and expected them to announce they were splitting. However, that couldnt have been further from their minds, with will.i.am finally explaining the meaning of the releases title.

They decided on The E.N.D. as they felt it summed up the feeling of the time. Will.i.am felt new technologies meant the music industry was moving on, so an era was finishing.

With that in mind, he has made sure the others in the group are constantly striving to achieve more, and make their sound fresher.

[We have to] stay hungry and keep wanting to push the envelope," Taboo explained to MTV news. "Don't be comfortable and settle. Will says once you start slacking off, there's someone that's hungrier than you. You have to stay hungry." (C) Cover Media
