Henry Cavill blown away by Superman

25th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Movies - Henry Cavill says the new Superman reboot is one of "the best" scripts he has ever read.

The British actor will play the iconic superhero in Man of Steel and is thrilled with the storyline. Henry was careful not to give away too much, but has promised fans it will be worth the wait when it is released in 2013.

"It's fantastic. That's all I can... It's one of the best scripts I've ever read," he revealed at Comic-Con in San Diego over the weekend, before confirming filming has started in Chicago. "It's going really well."

Henry was quizzed on how tough the shoot has been so far. While he admitted he had been tested during some of the scenes, the 28-year-old actor insists he is up to the challenge.

"Yeah," he replied to Access Hollywood when asked if he is being put through his paces. "No more than we can imagine anyone's been put through their paces on any job."

The star also spoke about his new movie Immortals, in which he plays Greek warrior Theseus. In the picture, his character battles against evil King Hyperion played by Mickey Rourke and director Tarsem Singh asked Henry to bulk up for the role.

"Tarsem said after the first meeting, I don't want a six pack, I want an eight pack,'" Henry explained. "That was the brief, so, I went for it.

"The idea of playing a sword-wielding hero has always attracted [me]. It's a great idea."

Immortals is released worldwide in November. (C) Cover Media
