After Shah Rukh, it is director Vishal Bharadwaj who has been replaced by Imtiaz Ali to direct Chetan Bhagat's '2 States'.
It has not been much time before Imtiaz Ali and his new best friend in Bollywod Ranbir Kapoor have been celebrating the success of their latest movie 'Rockstar' and now it seems they have found yet another reason to celebrate. The actor-director duo's hit association will be seen in yet another movie. Apparently, Ranbir has requested his producer Sajid Nadiadwala to rope in Imtiaz Ali to direct their upcoming flick '2 States' after director Vishal Bharadwaj left the project mid way.
Interestingly Ranbir too was a replacement as Shah Rukh Khan was the original choice to play the lead role in '2 States'. While Ranbir will play the lead role of a north Indian guy in love with a south Indian girl, Imtiaz will don the director's cap. Apparently Ranbir could not wait to work with Imtiaz again and hence he was rooting for his favorite director for quite some time now. Says a source, " Ranbir is highly impressed with Imtiaz’s direction and after working with him in Rockstar he can’t think of anyone else than Imtiaz to direct 2 States."
It would be interesting to see whether Ranbir and Imtiaz will be able to recreate the same magic with 2 States or not!
