(Cover) - EN Showbiz - James McAvoy admits his character in, X-Men: First Class, could be perceived as arrogant.
The 31-year-old Scottish actor plays the young Professor Charles Xavier in the upcoming comic-book prequel, set for international release in June.
The action adventure, based on the Marvel Comics stories, is the latest spin-off of the movie franchise, and will return to 1962 and document the meeting of James character with mutant Erik Lehnsherr.
The star admits the film manages to unearth previously unheard facts about his character, including his pomposity.
When we first meet him, theres quite a lot of swagger. Hes quite pleased with himself, really, he told Empire magazine.
However, James reveals that by the films end, his character manages to find peace and humility in the face of his growing challenge.
But when he uses Cerebro, he realises that there are thousands, possibly millions, of mutants out there and theyre really alone, he added. That touches something in him. That makes him realise, I know what I need to do now. (C) Cover Media
