(Cover) - EN Movies - Johnny Depp admits he was terrified of the strange creatures he encountered while filming the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
The Hollywood star has reprised his role as Captain Jack Sparrow for the fourth instalment of the franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The cast and crew had to spend many hours shooting in the depths of a jungle in Hawaii, and Johnny struggled to adjust to his surroundings. His co-star Geoffrey Rush recently claimed he was far braver than Johnny when they were shooting and the hunk has now agreed.
There were some strange things in the jungle. Geoffrey comes from Australia and everything there is poisonous, even the beer at times, Johnny joked in an interview with British television show Lorraine. So yeah, there were some really strange creatures in the wilds of Hawaii, things with a million legs and pincers. I was slightly trepidatious. Do I feel tougher? No, I am still scared.
The movie is directed by Rob Marshall and Johnny has developed a close friendship with the filmmaker. Even though they enjoy working together, the 47-year-old star admits there are limits to what he would be prepared to do for the director.
I would do anything Rob wanted me to do but in terms of me dancing for any length of time? I would say the doors are slammed shut, he smiled when asked if he would consider starring in a musical movie helmed by Rob.
Johnny also spoke about his co-star Penlope Cruz. The Spanish-born actress was pregnant with her first child while she was filming her scenes for the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and Johnny who has two children with his long-term partner Vanessa Paradis - insisted he didnt try to offer too much parenting advice.
The funny thing is that when Vanessa and I were expecting our first child, people would give us all kinds of advice, he added. But nothing stands up to what you truly experience when your first kid arrives. All I could say to her was, Just understand this is the best ride of your life. (C) Cover Media
