(Cover) - EN Movies - Johnny Depp will star in The Night Stalker.
The actor has signed on to appear in the modern day version of the cult 70s show, which was used as inspiration for hit sci-fi series The X-Files. It started off as a made-for-TV movie before running for a year as a TV show, and focused on a tabloid reporter named Carl Kolchak and his investigation into supernatural creatures like vampires and werewolves.
A remake of the show aired in 2005 starring Stuart Townsend, but was quickly axed because of poor ratings.
The film will be both produced by Disney and Johnny's own production company Infinitum Nihl, as will another untitled project. The second film will tell the pre-Revolutionary War story of Paul Revere's historical journey to warn American people that the English were set to invade.
Disney and Johnny seem to be a good match. As well as the success of The Pirates of the Caribbean films and Alice in Wonderland, he will star in Disney's eagerly awaited re-launch of The Lone Ranger. (C) Cover Media
