Bollywood films are always known for their long running time which often extends beyond 3 hours. We have had films like 'Lagaan' and 'Jodhaa Akbar' which were longer than ever, and the latest being 'Gangs of Wasseypur', which had to be released in two parts due to its lengthy duration. But that is going to change with films getting shorter and shorter with each passing day.
We've started to have films which run just minutes more than 2 hours, and now filmmaker Shirish Kunder is all set to create history by presenting 'Joker' in just 105 minutes.
Film editor-turned-director Shirish Kunder has decided to edit his ambitious film 'Joker' in a short and sweet manner, as he has decided to restrict the duration to just 105 minutes. This means the film will wrap up within 1 hour and 45 minutes, half of what a usual Bollywood film length is.
Shirish justifies his act with the following statement, "All action-packed big Hollywood family entertainers that kids from the world over have loved, like 'Spiderman' and 'Transformers' have a run time of approximately 90 mins. 'Joker' is about one hour 45 mins and it has all the ingredients you need to enjoy a pure family entertainer," said Kunder who is pretty confident of the film's review.
"It's a family film that will make you and your kids come out with a smile on your face," added Shirish.
Starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, the film is slated to release on August 31.
