Jonah Hill says his and Channing Tatum's movie characters "complete one another".
The actors star in the big screen reboot of 21 Jump Street. The action comedy follows two policemen who are sent undercover to a local high school. Their mission is to blend in with their peers to unveil a drug ring.
Jonah has revealed that his character Schmidt bounces off Channing's Jenko for all the right reasons.
"We complete one another with our flaws and strengths, basically," he told MTV News.
While Schmidt has "a hard time with the courageous and physical issues of being a police officer, Jenko is really great at all the physical elements of being a police officer, but his character is really stupid," he continued.
Channing admits that making the comedy film was an entirely new experience for him.
However, the 31-year-old star felt inspired because he used to watch the TV series that the film is based.
Channing says funnyman Jonah also had something to do with his casting.
"I've got to be honest: I'm about as 'fish out of water' as I can possibly get," he revealed. "I signed on for Jonah, and I watched this show growing up, so this is home for me."
21 Jump Street is due for release next year.
