(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Joseph Gordon-Levitt says he finds modern culture's obsession with celebrity "degrading."
The actor stars in upcoming movie Dark Knight Rises as police officer John Blake which director Christopher Nolan says was a no-brainer in choosing the talented performer.
Joseph opened up in the latest issue of GQ magazine where he shared his views on the effect showbiz is having on some people.
"I really don't like this notion that some people are more important than other people," he vented to the publication.
"These stories about these elevated people called celebrities' teaches you that what you have to say doesn't matter. It's degrading."
Joseph also revealed that he was very stern as a young man and was ahead of his time.
"I was sort of a serious little dude snobby," he said. "I thought girls my age were very frustrating. They were like, looking in their compact mirrors and s**t, and I thought that was evil." (C) Cover Media
